Hooking up my Turntables/Mixer to my TV Troubleshooting? - troubleshooting televisions by screen symptoms

So I made my console today, but did not get stereo. I recently bought a new TV and thought it would be just my mixer through my TV set the tone until I get the stereo. But I can not, that it works. I have tried all the sections of this country. I am connecting with a dual-RCA cable to my TV / mixer. Ideas?
